There has never been any doubt as to the importance of Apple’s iPhone 5 release date, expected to take place in the early to mid-stages of next month. However, according to analysts from Jeffries Research, the launch of the iPhone 5 will be categorically the biggest in the history of the Smartphone market, suggesting that Apple will need a minimum of 15 million units on standby simply to fill immediate release date demand.
What’s more, the analyst group also draws attention to the fact that upwards of 600 million consumers are expect to end their current Smartphone contracts before the year – a huge proportion of which are expected to flock to Apple’s doors.
Pre-release demand for the iPhone 5 is truly unprecedented, having influenced the behavior of the public to such an extent that the global Smartphone market has been directly affected. According to recent studies, global Smartphone sales fell by 2.3% during Q2 of this year, which analysts have attributed to anticipation ahead of the iPhone 5 release date.
Great news for Apple of course, but huge pressure nonetheless as the Cupertino company will have to pull off the release of a lifetime to bite back as Samsung, which is currently clearing house with its Galaxy S3 and other lull-filling powerhouses.
In order for the iPhone 5 to live up to the hype, it will have to bring something to the table the likes of which one of us have seen, or even imagined before. This will certainly be no time for Apple to tide things over with modest upgrade or series of tweaks – an iPhone revolution is essential to guarantee the company’s ongoing success.
On the other hand, rumors also continue to circulate of an iPad Mini and perhaps a new 2012 iPod Touch range landing on the very same release date as the iPhone 5, meaning that Apple may be looking to bolster its efforts with something of a ‘strength in numbers’ approach.
